Biography

Establishing the foundations that allow a regulated technology company to earn trust

Anna Fridman is a Co-Founder of Spring Labs, where she played a central role in establishing the company's legal, compliance, and strategic foundations from the ground up. She comes from the founding ecosystem of Avant, the consumer lending platform that became one of fintech's first unicorns — bringing with her the entrepreneurial experience of building a high-growth financial services company in a heavily regulated environment.

At Spring Labs, Anna oversaw the company's regulatory posture and the legal architecture that enables Spring Labs to operate as a trusted technology partner to financial institutions. This includes the company's intellectual property strategy — including a portfolio of patents in privacy-preserving data exchange technology — and the enterprise contract and partnership frameworks that underpin the company's relationships with major banks, fintech lenders, and BaaS platforms.

Building a technology company in financial services requires more than strong engineering — it requires institutional credibility. Anna's legal expertise and regulatory fluency gave Spring Labs the compliance foundation it needed to earn the trust of financial institutions for whom regulatory risk is not abstract. Her work shaped the company's data security standards, its approach to enterprise contracting, and its ability to engage with regulators and auditors as a credible, transparent partner.

Anna brings a rare combination of legal rigor and entrepreneurial intuition, having been part of Spring Labs' growth from its earliest stages through its emergence as a recognized AI platform in financial services. She understands that in regulated industries, how a company builds is as important as what it builds — and that the frameworks established in a company's early days shape its ability to scale safely and responsibly.

Beyond Spring Labs, Anna is committed to fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs. She and her husband have seeded the iVenture Accelerator at the University of Illinois, which provides resources, mentorship, and early-stage support to student-founded startups — reflecting a conviction that entrepreneurship education is one of the highest-return investments in the future of innovation.
